Timber Harvest at Pisgah
August 10, 2022
Operation of the timber sale east of Old Chesterfield Road which was delayed due to last summer’s rains, will begin on the week of August 15th.
Road repairs to Winchester Road and Old Chesterfield Road (from Winchester Road to the just north of the Lily Pond Trail at the new Habitat Trail southern spur) will happen first. Access will be limited on portions of the trail - watch for signs and updates here.
During harvest many of the old culverts and bridges will be covered with “crane or timber mats” to protect them during trucking and forwarding. These wooden mats are similar to wooden bridges so equestrians should be aware of possible traction issues.
Once harvesting begins, there will be occasional weekday trail closures (watch here for updates) and trucks on Winchester and Old Chesterfield Rd during weekdays.

GAMING NIGHT
November 17-21
We have a fantastic fund-raising opportunity, but, we need your help!
Wonder casino in Keene is going all in by donating a portion of their proceeds to our organization November 17-21. We need you to rally some friends and make a night of it on those dates. The more attendees, the more financial support Friends of Pisgah will receive.
This program is an invaluable revenue stream for us and we're asking you to help us make the most of it. We love maintaining and celebrating this beautiful park and we know you value our work- roll the dice and come out for FOP at Wonder Casino in Keene Nov 17-21!
Upcoming Work Days & Meetings
We hold regular Friends of Pisgah meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Pisgah State Park Visitor Center, 520 Old Chesterfield Rd, Winchester, NH 03470.
All are welcome to attend.
Work days are sporadic and will be posted here. While called work days, they really are alot of fun! Folks with any level of strength and skill are encouraged to attend- all that's required is a good attitude, and a hearty sense of humor helps too.
Night Hike
Get your family and fourth of July guests out of the house and on an adventure, at no cost to you. This is a family friendly event.
July 1st At the Dort property in Chesterfield NH, we will have signs posted at the driveway entrance off RT. 63.
We will start gathering at 7pm, the hike will start at 8pm.
Also join us for hotdogs and smores by the campfire at the Dort Shelter.
